Laura's Flowers & Fine Gifts is an exciting experience for first-time customers. The beautiful, award-winning exterior was hand-painted by local artists and designed to express Kim Sabourin's unique touch. The signature and architecture give the impression of a small European village, while the colour scheme is warm and appealing. Our window displays keep our customers informed as to what is hot in the upcoming seasons, and are continuously changed to grab the attention of passers by. To bring new items and new fashions to Cornwall, Kim travels to many gift shows, such as those in Dallas, Toronto, and Montreal.
Customers to Laura's Flowers & Fine Gifts are amazed at the grandeur of the store. The ceilings are twenty feet high and painted black to give you that industrial loft effect. Elegantly soft yet beautifully lustrous faux paint techniques adorn the walls, along with tapestries, prints, mirrors and shelves. Our displays are set up so customers can easily visualize the merchandise as it might appear in their home. We continuously provide decorating advice and ideas to our customers along with home consultations.
Architecturally, our store is in a class of its own. You can't help but be awestruck by the size and overall design. It is also unique because we provide one stop shopping. You are able to find fresh flowers, a gift for someone special, decorate your home, prepare a gourmet meal, and beautify your garden. We also provide custom orders such as silk arrangements, gift & gourmet baskets, solid pine shelves and furniture. If you cannot find it on our shelves, we will be more than happy to try to find it for you from our many suppliers. We have a custom-made bridal registry and we also decorate for weddings - a source of much of our praise and spreading publicity. We offer gift certificates as well as free delivery in Cornwall and, despite being an independent retailer, we feel we can compete with the larger chains. Our diversity, customer service and overall appearance are superb.
Our designers take great care not to inhibit their passion for floral arrangement. In lieu of this passion, they take part in local bridal shows to offer innovative floral designs for weddings. Our designers are also given the opportunity to represent their passion and creativity during the holiday seasons when the store is decorated with lush, whimsical, and elegant designs alike. An example is our Christmas Open House which occurs annually on the first of November. Laura's transforms into a splendid and magical getaway from the stressful bustle of Christmas time - our customers marvel at such a genuine flourish of wintry elegance. They also delight in food demonstrations, door prizes, and free hot cider offered with food munchies. Our female customers are even given a complimentary rose.
